Trafalgar Theatre

London

The Grade II listed Trafalgar Theatre has undergone a major multi-million-pound restoration project which includes a new single auditorium at an increased capacity and a larger stage.

The auditorium is reinstated to its original heritage design, complete with new seats and an enhanced customer experience from a new stalls bar, a new spacious foyer, and more and improved toilets. These features combine to produce one of the best theatres in the west end. Much credit to architect Foster Wilson Size.

The upgrade is in time to welcome The Jersey Boys UK Ltd which runs from July 28 to January 2022.

Consistent with our usual approach, the lighting design is there to serve the interior architecture and the function of the space. As such, we tried to make the lighting intervention as discreet as possible. Where possible, original fixtures are retained - such as the delightful deco light rocks in the circulation areas.

The theatre sector has been very severely affected by the pandemic and consequent lockdowns and restrictions. We wish Trafalgar much-deserved success with Jersey Boys.
