Joining the UK Green Building Council

We’re pleased to announce that 18 Degrees has joined the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) as a member company. We believe lighting design has a crucial role to play in reducing waste and carbon emissions in the built environment. Joining UKGBC connects us to a wider network of organisations committed to transforming the construction and property sectors towards a more sustainable, circular future.

Our 18 Circular initiative is part of that commitment — helping eliminate lighting waste from Cat A office fit-outs by reusing and re-certifying luminaires across multiple building cycles. This approach not only reduces embodied carbon but also addresses one of the industry’s most overlooked waste streams.

Becoming a UKGBC member gives us the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded organisations, share ideas, and help push for meaningful change at scale. We’re excited to contribute and to learn from the collective expertise of the UKGBC community.

If you’re interested in finding new ways to reduce carbon and waste from lighting, we’d love to start a conversation.

Whether you're at the start of a project or just want to explore ideas, we'd love to hear from you.
